Barbecue increases smoke and therefore smog: PDMA director's statement in court.

Lahore (Urdu Point newspaper latest. December 16, 2021) It was proposed to ban barbecue in winter. According to details, the Lahore High Court on Thursday heard petitions filed against not taking effective measures to curb smog. Justice Shahid Karim heard similar petitions filed by Azhar Siddique, Haroon Farooq and others. Meanwhile, the Director PDMA, while requesting the court to ban barbecue, said that barbecue increases the smoke and then the smog increases due to the same smoke.
The court said that we have to work till the end of the smog. During the hearing, the public prosecutor said that extra-curricular activities should be banned in educational institutions, on which the court said that there was concern over the increase in the intensity of smog, if the Punjab government does not decide, the court will decide.
The court ordered the kiln owners to pay a one-week fine and directed the kilns to pay the fines if they do not pay the fines imposed by the Environmental Judicial Commission. The court said that the LDA should reconsider this, after which the court adjourned further hearing till today.
It is to be noted that the petitioner's lawyers, who had filed the petition in the Lahore High Court, had taken a stand in their petition that despite the court order, no serious steps had been taken to curb smog, due to which smog is increasing, which is detrimental to human health. Extremely dangerous, the court ordered concrete steps to be taken to eliminate smog.
